No U-Turns

In the vlog below, I will discuss lessons from Kaleb concerning innovation in education.

The truth is, innovation in education is pushing us forward at an accelerated speed, and it’s too dangerous to turn around. We must keep going. We may have to reroute, reflect and tweak our practices to serve our end users better, but we can’t stop moving forward.

No U-turns.

About the Author

I am an educator who values the individuality and uniqueness of others. Writing the blog R.E.A.L. is an outlet for me to pay it forward by sharing ideas, influences, lessons learned and exposing a little vulnerability while encouraging others to maximize their R.E.A.L. potential, as well.

I agree wholeheartedly. It’s so easy (for all of us) to revert to familiar paths when faced with stressful or adverse situations. It’s about finding peace and comfort. However, creativity, innovation, and growth are not found in those areas. That was awesome of you to encourage him to go forward. Additionally, it applies to all situations. When things aren’t working, we must look to the unfamiliar and uncomfortable sometimes to succeed. There’s where we shine!

Catherine, thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts. I couldn’t agree more with your last two statements. YOU ROCK! Shine on!

      Thanks!
I did want to clarify something in my previous response:
Innovation can be found when someone is in a peaceful and reflective state. But for some, when faced with adversity, they revert back to those old patters looking for comfort and familiarity. In THOSE states of mind, innovation can’t occur (in my humble opinion) because the person has retreated to that comfort zone.
