Professionally
I’m an educator, writer, leader, and hugger. Teaching is hands down my purpose in life, next to being a mom! I consider myself an instructional coach by default because leading by inquiry tends to bleed over into any educational role I’ve had the honor to serve. However, currently, I serve as a district administrator. This might be my most challenging yet rewarding experience in education to date. In fact, I’m widening my vision and learning many lessons from #TheRookieAdmin perspective.
I absolutely love being a connected educator. In fact, my PLN (professional learning network) is more like a PLFamily to me. Expanding my PLF and learning from others, in the field I’m most passionate about, makes my heart happy.
Personally
I have been married to my precious husband, Darrell, for 19 years now, and we have an amazing “not-so-little” man, Kaleb. Kaleb is currently embarking on all things teenage boyish; it is safe to say this mommy is dealing with emotions like none I’ve yet to experience. However, the REAL truth is I couldn’t do life without my guys and my God. They are pretty much the reason my heart beats.
