Life can be overwhelming sometimes.
Not sure if you’ve felt this of late, but if not now…you will. It’s just part of the process. There are ups. There are downs. There are wildly crowded days. And, there are days when we stare at the sky and wonder if we are truly fulfilling our purpose here on Earth.
No matter what your current thought process or feelings might be, I wanted to remind you of one thing…
But, before I do, I would love to share how timely this little message came to me.
Last month, I posted a picture on Instagram for National Woman’s Day and was wearing my Lululemon athletic wear with the quote below.
I tagged Lululemon but didn’t think too much of it. I’m not an influencer and only have like 2K followers on the platform. However, to my surprise, Lululemon reached out to me and said they loved the image and the quote. Then, they asked me to share about a woman in my life that inspires me.
Whew! There are so many inspirational women in my life! Who to choose?!
I shared about Dr. Devin. She is not on social media but is one of my dear multipliers–my grad school profession turned life-long mentor and friend!
Long story short, Lululemon sent us both a huge box of goodies to celebrate National Woman’s History Month! *Pictured below
I’m going somewhere with this. Promise.
Among all of these generous gifts–which I expressed my gratitude to the company profusely, was this tiny little key chain.
And, the message on the key chain struck a chord in my heart. It was exactly what I needed when I needed it.
I feel overwhelmed with so many things right now. It’s as if nothing gets completely done, and there are other outside factors (some completely out of my control) that are consuming energy.
But, this simple little key chain message reminded me…
I need to think about all of it through the lens of
One. Thing. At. A. Time.
I love that there are dots separating each word. It seems to emphasize the point in a REAL way for me.
And, it made me think…
I can accomplish what is expected of me by completing one task at a time.
I can continue to provide support for those within my realm of influence–one conversation at a time.
I can show compassion for those I care about–one listening session at a time. (Or, after Covid…one hug at a time.)
I can empower the learners I serve–one lesson at a time.
I can keep showing up for myself–one workout at a time.
I can hold on to hope that things will pan out–one day at a time.
I can strive to pour positive energy into my life and the lives of others–one moment at a time. Or, one post at a time. I can slowly reduce the energy suckers in my life–one thing at a time.
I can continue to Cannonball In on my dreams one jump at a time.
Friends, if you need this profound yet reliable reminder, too,
try approaching life…
